In a significant effort to strengthen the spiritual fabric of our local community, a dedicated Quran distribution project was successfully carried out across several key areas in Badulla. This initiative was made possible through a fruitful partnership with the IKM Foundation.
The project focused on ensuring that households and worshippers in these mahallas have access to high-quality Mushafs (copies of the Holy Quran) to aid in their daily recitation and spiritual growth.
Strategic Distribution Areas
The distribution was carefully coordinated to reach the heart of our local neighborhoods, focusing on three main Masjids and their surrounding communities:
- Zaviya Masjid & Mahalla: Serving the historic community surrounding the Zaviya Masjid.
- Sumanathissagama Masjid: Providing copies to the local residents and worshippers in the Sumanathissagama area.
- Badulupitiya Masjid & Mahalla: Reaching the large community centered around the Badulupitiya Masjid.
- Kanupalalla: Extending the reach to families living in the Kanupalalla area of Badulla.
Partnering for Khair
The IKM Foundation played a vital role in this mission. By collaborating with local volunteers, the foundation ensured that the distribution was handled with care and reached those most in need of a new Mushaf.

Impact on the Community
The residents of Zaviya, Sumanathissagama, and Badulupitiya expressed deep gratitude for the initiative. For many families, receiving a new copy of the Holy Quran is a source of immense joy and a motivation to increase their daily Tilawat (recitation).

This project is part of a broader vision to support Islamic education and spiritual development in the Uva Province. We thank the IKM Foundation, the Masjid committees, and the tireless volunteers who walked through the mahallas to deliver these gifts.
May Allah (SWT) accept this noble effort as Sadaqah Jariyah for the donors, organizers, and the entire Badulla community.
